The EDI 852 is an electronic data interchange transaction that contains inventory or product activity information about a particular item, GTIN or UPC across a set of Retail or other locations. The EDI 852 is typically sent on Sundays and can represent a large amount of data.
Companies often utilize retail EDI VANs, AS2 or other technologies to support this process. There are ESB and iPaaS solutions that can support this process.
The EDI 852 is not only used in Retail EDI environments, but also in automotive, wholesale and many others.
